Hi, I'm Sam. I like to help people with money, web 2.0, and social justice awareness. I have a dream of using the social media space to help people in both little ways (wheelchair ramps down the road) and big ways (ending human trafficking). In October, my wife and I took a trip to Black Mountain, North Carolina. While we there, we discovered the Dripolator, a local coffee shop that sells Larry’s Beans. I bought a pound, took it home, and fell in love. Soon after, I gave Larry’s Beans a call and talked to Kyley, one of their marketing folks. I told her about my passion for fair trade and my blog, and asked her if there was a way we could partner. She suggested a product giveaway, and here we are.

So Larry’s Beans is based in Raleigh, NC, and produces small batches of 100% fair trade, organic, and shade grown beans. Their beans are grown chemical free to preserve the soil and the water. Additionally, they go above and beyond with their commitment to Fair Trade. They work closely with farmers, pay them at least the International Fair Trade price, visit their farmers annually, and put a document trail online. Awesome!
Another cool thing about them is their unbelievable biodegradable bag. It composts in 9 months! Extra bonus points!
Of course, the bottom line is that their coffee is incredible. If you’re a fan of Fair Trade coffee, or just plain delicious coffee, you’ve got to give them a try. I’m not a coffee expert, but I just about flipped over the Bean Martin Roast. I love strong, dark roasts, and this one is top notch.
